Elder Care & Doula Service

Healing at the end of life

I am an end-of-life doula, which is a new title for an ancient practice: supporting someone through the labor of dying. Just as a birth doula supports mothers through the labor of giving birth, death doulas are trained to offer people who are dying, and their loved ones, comfort and care at the end of life.

While I focus on our elder community and the sacred end-of-life passage, my services may also be appropriate for others in need of care.

Nancy Feely

I am a graduate of the Conscious Dying Institute (Boulder, CO), certified as a Sacred Passage End-of-Life Doula and Conscious Dying Coach. I am also a trained volunteer with End of Life Washington, which helps people with medical assisted death.

Inspired by being with first my father, and then my mother, and the end of their lives, I come to this work with a deep conviction that we need to bring more healing and less curing to the end of life experience.

I’ve worked in the service and hospitality industry since the age of 15; I love interacting with people, learning their stories and finding ways to make them feel calm and cared for.

I am dedicating my service to my brother, who died from ALS.

The Conscious Dying Institute seeks to renew the purpose of caregiving as a spiritual practice.

My Services

While I focus on our elder community and the sacred end-of-life passage, my services may also be appropriate for others in need of care. Situations range from hospital-to-home transitions and palliative care support to “adult-sitting” and bedside care.

Healing starts with communication. I help people have wide-ranging, sometimes challenging, often revealing conversations with themselves, families and caregivers that lead to deeper connections, clarity and peace.

Sensitive care means knowing what to offer and when, whether a companionable silent presence, a shift in pillows, a little harp music or a good joke. I can offer this and more.

I would love to be of service.

This work is important to me; I’d like to understand your needs so that we can figure out what works best for your situation and budget. I can provide a defined service for a fee; otherwise my rates range from $40-$70/hourly. I am here to figure out what works for you. Please be in touch!
